Congressional Black Caucus Gala

The first lady attended the Congressional Black Caucus Gala in Washington, D.C. last evening, speaking with a strong message on voter rights:
"We cannot let anyone discourage us from casting our ballots. We cannot let anyone make us feel unwelcome in the voting booth. It is up to us to make sure that in every election, every voice is heard and every vote is counted."
For the occasion, Mrs. O wore a Michael Kors black georgette pleated one shoulder gown paired with a sparkly vintage rhinestone belt from New York Vintage at the waist. Of note, Mrs. O wore the same gown for the Presidential Medal of Freedom ceremony in June, here. This is the first time in memory that Mrs. O has repeated a formal ensemble.

I thought this was the same dress, but wasn't sure. I like this belt better than the last one she wore with it. She looked STUNNING!!! And more importantly, her speech was on point. I watched it live and I love the emotion that Mrs. O inflects when she speaks. She feels the words and makes you feel them too. I was already pumped up about GOTV, but she inspired me even more. We must GOTV!! FORWARD!!!

THIS is the best look ever on her, and that's a difficult choice to make. I absolutely loved the sparkly sash, the accordion pleating, the richness of the hue and just how stately it came off with her height and beautiful posture.
I must say, this is also my favorite hairstyle, I wish she would do this classic Pageboy more often instead of the swept back effect. The understated accessories and MU was great as well (though I wish she'd done a tarty red lip), her eyes were just movie star! Wonderful to find this website!
The dress is as beautiful as the wearer but without a doubt the highlight of the event was the first class speech that the first lady delivered.

Ao..o...o. Michelle you are going to "kill" me ..... This is such a timeless, classic look I will give anything to own this dress. I loved it the first time and this second time is just too much for me. Stunning...stunning...beautiful...... She looks like a "goddess" in this outfit. ....!!!
Seeing Michelle in this elegant gown, looking so fabulous, yet so comfortable, reaffirms what I have been saying all along--she does evening gowns better than ANY Hollywood star on the red carpet! I just got done looking at what the stars wore to the Emmy's last night, and 95% of them were truly hideous! They are all trying waayy too hard. I then flipped over to Mrs-O.com and lo and behold there is Michelle, shining brighter than any of those botoxed actresses.

I agree. She is so elegant and comfortable in evening wear. I am certain it is due to the importance of her message. She has grown more confident and poised in 4 years. Here's to 4 more.
