Thakoon Revisited

The First Lady spoke about the Joining Forces hiring initiative for military veterans and spouses in an event held in the East Room of the White House on Tuesday.

For the event, Mrs. O wore a Thakoon inside-out dress from the designer's Fall 2008 collection, first seen at a 2008 presidential debate here. Red pointed toe pumps completed the look.

Obama Diary has a lovely photo of Mrs. O (in the red Michael Kors) with Jill Biden in blue http://theobamadiary.com/page/3/ Scroll down to "Rise and Shine" under May 1. Looks like an official photo, but I don't see it on the White House website.

Really lovely! In the 2008 photo she has a black ribbon bow pin at the neckline, here she's replaced it with a metal brooch.
It blows the mind how years later, she pulls out these outfits she's previously worn and very effortlessly makes them look even better, more stylish and fresher than ever with a few nifty tweaks here and there.
Mrs Obama makes the best argument for investing in beautiful, well-made pieces. You really do get your money's worth and they hold up well over the years.
I love how the rich print translates so well on camera and even with the multi pattern, still comes across as understated with it's simple and clean tailoring.
Beautiful!
Thakoon should revisit this concept.

There is another view of the back of the dress on The White House's Facebook page. The shot shows FLOTUS and POTUS watching tv in the Green Room.

Continue to love this dress on Mrs. Obama--looks like a bow in the back at the top in other pictures. Thank you Mrs. T!

What Audrey said! I have always loved this dress and am so glad Mrs. O is still wearing it. She looks gorgeous and stylish and happy.

Every part of that dress is made to fit her perfectly. Thats a great shoe colour
close to her skin tone and softens the theme.
