Pretty in Peter Soronen

The President and First Lady attended the wreath laying ceremony in honor of Memorial Day at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia today.

On the style front, Mrs. O wore a painted cotton lace dress from Peter Soronen, previously seen in April 2009, here. It is a true delight to see Mrs. O wearing Peter Soronen once again! In keeping with her style signatures, Mrs. O paired the dress with green pumps, a cream cardigan and House of Lavande jeweled belt at the waist.

This is a lovely dress -- and I like it better with the belt, which is unusual for me. Michelle looks beautiful!

It's great to see the Peter Soronen dress again!!! The print is so reminiscent of Japanese rice paper patterns. Very pretty. And she's put that House of Lavande belt to such good use again and again and it looks perfect each time!!!
And the green shoes, if I'm not mistaken, are the same shoes she wore with the beautiful Isabel Toledo dress and coat for day during the first inauguration in 2008!!! I'm hoping for another Isabel Toledo outfit. I think she's a brilliant designer and Mrs Obama wears her so beautifully!!!
I have to share this picture with everyone. It's just so incredible and powerful!!! It's from today at the White House garden harvesting event with kids from across the country:

In the end it's really all about the small, seemingly inconsequential things..
..It's the spontaneous gestures, those littlest acts of caring - that's what makes the most impact;
The memories that stay with us.. It's the very first time this little boy ever smelled a fennel and I'm sure he'll never forget it. It's the mix of wonder and uncertainty in his eyes and the fixed gaze of interest, caring and a distinct hope in hers.
Sometimes it's the littlest things that are the greatest things..
She really gets it - Mrs Obama does..
She really, really gets it!!!
That is why she is one special woman..an amazing mother..a fantastic First Lady..
And that's one of the many reasons I remain in awe of her and will always, always adore her!!!

This I think is a much better link to the picture I linked to in my earlier post:

Absolutely beautiful!!!
And by the way, the checkered green shirt and navy pants are both repeats too!!! I went searching because the shirt was vaguely familiar. Then I found it!!!
She wore the same for an interview she did at home with iVillage in 2012 when she was their guest editor for a week.

FLOTUS always looks fabulous. One thing, I have also noticed is her confident posture and walk. She walks like she has it "going on" and she does!

Lovely as always, but it is surprising that Mrs. O didn't observe the occasion in her choice of outfit. We know her devotion to military families, and she could have reflected this with perhaps some navy blue or a poppy pin.

I am still loving that belt! It's one of our Michelle's more understated accessories that I never get tired of.
@ THC1, you are so right. That is a confident stride from a confident woman!
