The First Lady was in Chicago this week to speak wtih Chicago teens participating in Urban Alliance, a career training program run by Mayor Rahm Emanuel's wife Amy Rule. For the appearance, Mrs. O wore a Rachel Roy Cadmium Draped Floral Dress that dates back to 2010, first seen here.

With legs like that she'd look good in a burlap sack!

I've never come across anything by Rachel Roy that I didn't like. I particularly love her two tone dresses. If money were no object for me I would spend spend spend on Rachel Roy and Barbara Tfank. The first lady is wearing some lovely nude shoes.

But more than anything else, look at all those young people listening so intently - with such rapt attention--

I can bet you that for years to come, those kids remember everything she said to them -- and the fact that she really does care about them--

I think they'll remember her smile, laughter and applause as they each asked a question or told their story ---

They'll also remember the way she made sure to *see* each of them; making eye contact and cheering them on even with her smiling eyes, as they nervously stood up to speak--
That is the power of Michelle Obama;

Effortlessly captivating and inspiring -- She is completely amazing!

Amazing picture of Mrs. Obama in the awesome ball gown (cap sleeves added), full length that she wore in Senegal at the official dinner on The Obama Diary today. So beautiful!

Beautiful and on target Audrey!

@Jestina: The color of the First Lady's shoes isn't "nude." It is tan, or maybe, "sand"-colored? "Nude" is relative. Mrs. Obama's shoes are not the same hue of her beautiful burnished complexion. Nor of mine. :-)

Hey Mrs. O peeps! Guess what? Mrs. O is in New Orleans today for the NCLR Annual Conference! We were so tempted to go hang out on the patio at PJ's Coffee House to see if we could glance her motorcade going down Poydras Street, heading to the Convention Center. I can't wait to hear her speech and see what she's wearing. :0)

Here's a link to some great shots of Mrs Obama in New Orleans S'Nana!!!

She's such a natural with people just like Audrey writes, and it really shows!!! No airs, no contrived or forced interactions, just natural, comfortable, unscripted and real!!! I particularly love the shot where she's hugging one little girl with one hand and instinctively reaching out to touch a shy little boy with the other!!! Rock on great woman and mother, Rock on great First Lady!!!
P.S: She's wearing the same lovely Jason Wu dress she wore to the event with Laura Bush in Tanzania!!!

Thank you Eleroy! Her warmth is amazing!!!!!!! I have not had the pleasure but a friend did during the campaign. He was standing on line to greet her. He offered his hand for a handshake. She gently pushed it away and extended her arms for a hug. Love her.

Mrs. O. is very smart to repeat her clothes. A lot of "Marie Antoinette" remarks are floating around the Internet so she is very wise to repeat her clothes and cut off that angle of criticism. Remember, she is not a movie star and there's no reason for her to wear a new garment every time she appears in public. That would be horribly expensive and time-consuming, and I'm sure FLOTUS has more important things on her mind, like trying to get good food sources into food deserts. So stop complaining about the repeats and appreciate her wisdom in repeating and how good she looks no matter how often she wears something!

Good point Dressmaker. I was looking through a book about Jackie Kennedy's time as FLOTUS and was surprised to see that see often repeated her outfits. She had worn the pink Chanel suit a number of times before the fateful trip to Dallas.

Oh for pete's sake, FLOTUS has always recycled her clothes. She's undeniably authentic, is her own woman and as we who've followed her know well, she doesn't react or live her live based on criticisms or opinions or she wouldn't still be fully embracing her belts. The people who peddle the " marie antoinette " nonsense will never approve of FLOTUS no matter what she does. They are the same people who also insist POTUS is a phony, a lousy husband and father. They claim he's a terrible family man who spends all his free time and vacations separately from his wife and kids and spends long hours every Saturday out with his pals on the golf course. Whoever is listening to these critics will never support or like this FLOTUS and POTUS.

Dear First Lady:
My name is Virginia Argento. I am an inventor and entrepreneur with a dream. My goal is to create my bed sheets product line named Sarentony. It is a revolutionary newly patented line created solely by myself.

I know that you are a woman who empowers other woman to pursue their individual goals. I must admit that I am so excited to be on your site discussing my potential business. I would like your feedback or potential input regarding my bed sheets. I would be honored if you would accept my invitation to visit my new blog www.sarentony.wordpress.com.

In my opinion, you are certainly the best prospect for giving me the courage and advice to pursue my goal to be another successful woman that will create more jobs. I am also a teacher for handi-capable adults, whom I would love to see working under my direction. They have a special gift and are dear to my heart along with my two children.

I thank you in advance for giving me this opportunity to write to you.
