A Fond Farewell

Dear Readers,

After much thought and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to end the Mrs. O blog. Over the past year, my personal and professional circumstances have changed such that I cannot devote the same time and attention to the blog that I once could. I continue to have the utmost admiration for Mrs. Obama - for her style and so much more.

From an idea sparked by Michelle Obama's presence at the 2008 Democratic National Convention, we grew into a vibrant, diverse community with a common interest. The information sharing and exchange of opinions over the past 5-1/2 years has been fun, inspiring, sometimes a bit controversial - but always in the spirit of good, open dialogue. Thank you all for your support and readership over the years.

Wishing you the very best,

Mrs. T

I'm sad, too, because I have loved your blog. I will miss so seeing what you have posted, and so will my 20 year-old daughter. Honestly, I think Michelle has looked on a regular basis to see what you have included, too!
Thank you so much for your time and effort,
Nena in Seattle

Thank you for all of the hard work you put into the blog over the years. I Whenever I see FLOTUS I will still think, "I wonder what Mrs. T would say about that outfit."

Thank you Mrs. T for creating this wonderful blog celebrating the fashion and work of a woman that I truly admire! It helped me to get thru a trying time in my life. I was one that defended Mrs. O and her choices to the bitter end and it did get ugly sometimes , but I wouldn't change a thing. I will be forever grateful for this place because it introduced me to the best group of ladies ever!! They have become my mentors, my confidants, my friends, and most importantly, my family!! I can't imagine life without knowing them Now!!! So, thank you to infinity!!! I wish you nothing but the best in life!!

Thank you Mrs. T for starting this wonderful blog! I will miss my daily check-in to see Mrs. O's fashion triumphs, and to read the thoughts/reviews of this Community.
Mrs. T. I wish you every success. To the Community, you are a positive and energizing group. I am thankful for being a (quiet) part of it. Namaste!

Mrs. T, You are such a sweet, sweet spirit. Your blog brought so much joy into my life and I could hear your voice in every word you wrote and every photo you shared. I'm weeping as I type this because I have to say farewell, sweet spirit. I wish you good things, only good things.

I'm so very sorry to see the end of this wonderful blog, but I really understand why. The high level of commitment needed to produce such a well structured and monitored blog, as well as maintaining a home and professional life must have been challenging to say the least, so I greatly admire and thank you for it. I have followed it from the beginning but only registered last year (and had missed your comments too Nyon!)
I doubt there will ever be another blog like this one, so it would be great if we could have a final showcase of Mrs O's greatest hits ;0)
Thank you again Mrs T for your faithful dedication and flair in keeping us happy over the years and I wish you so much happiness in the future. Bravo! 😊 x

You'll be missed Mrs T. Where to go now for positive coverage of our inimitable First Lady Michelle Obama?

Thank you Mrs T for developing this very classy site. I also want to thank you for allowing lively debates. So many of the comments were well written and fun to read, even if I didn't always agree. I used to enjoy reading Posh Tater and Marcus Perry as their comments were so witty. Even though there was plenty of disagreements amongst the commenters, most of them remained civil while defending their point of view. Best of luck to you. It's been fun.

Thank you so much for all the work you put into this. You provided a lot of fun and inspiration for me (an older mom) and my 8-year-old (biracial) daughter. I'll miss it, but I know how much work it is. Best wishes in your future!

Mrs. T,
You have been in many ways like a first responder; on the front lines in chronicling the sartorial statements by a First Lady in waiting and then a First Lady of The United States of America. Yours has been an au courant affair brought into existence through fabrics, style and fashion thus creating a soft landing for admirers of Mrs. Obama. Your blog has been a first class showcase of the Arts that surrounds the birth of a beauty supreme. Thank you for your vision and Godspeed in the new journey that awaits you.

Dearest Mrs. T,
You wouldn't consider one last post for the state dinner on Tuesday? We'd understand if you didn't, but wouldn't it be a fitting swan song? I'm eager to see whether our FLOTUS honors French fashion or goes all-American. You wouldn't even have to open the comments, just provide your own.

In either case, many thanks and very best wishes!

Oh noooo! Say it isn't so! If at all possible, please reconsider. I can't live without this blog as I LOVE the FLOTUS and you too for your efforts!

Mrs T, so sorry to hear that you are ending this blog. I live in Melbourne Australia and have visited this blog nearly every day since you started it. I have followed with interest the fashion of Mrs O and have loved learning about her outfits and the designers behind them. Thank you for hosting this blog and I wish you every success in the future.

Mrs. T - I can't add anything that hasn't already been said so well by such a diverse group of followers, but there's the tribute to you. You have brought so many together, just as Michelle Obama has. Personally I thank you for coming to my defense and asking for civility when my comments about fashion (on this fashion blog!) were confused as criticism of our First Lady. I join those in hoping the site will stay live so we can review all the beautiful moments and in hoping someone might continue it. Even without the comment function! God bless you, Mrs. T. I'll remember you as one of the many bright spots of the whole Obama era.

Thank you - this blog has been such a delight. A particular joy for me has been sharing it with my daughter, from 12 through 17 years. What a wonderful role model Mrs Obama has been in teaching her what it mean to act and dress with style and dignity. We will both miss your blog.
Best wishes in your future endeavours.

Mrs. T – I will really miss typing in ‘following Mrs. O Fashion’
which has been the highlight of many many days over the past 5 ½ years.
Thanks for all your hard work, your patience and commitment to this

choices and the many happy moments spent here, will be cherished and
remembered always.

I will miss the bloggers who posted quickly and often and looked forward to sharing my views with them……….like a part of a big family with similar sentiments about our favourite Lady. I hope we meet again.
Wishing you all the best things that life has to offer today and always.

Thank you for bringing us something that presented our first lady's personal style with the sophistication she deserves. Not only have I enjoyed seeing how Mrs. O dresses but even more all the diverse roles she plays and settings she moves through with apparent grace and self assuredness. It's been fun and I will miss checking in with Mrs. O

So sorry. I hope the circumstances ofyou ending the blog are happy ones. You have done a splendid, spectacular job of chronicling Mrs. Obama's fashionevolutionas First Lady. Your enthusiasm has been a welcome respite from the divisive and the trite. So sorry not to be able to read your review of the Caroline Herrera Mrs. Obama wore for the State Dinner. Sincerest best wishes. Godspeed.

I am heartbroken, I shed a tear but I do understand that there is a time to move on to other things. This was one of the most beautiful blog on the internet. I visited everyday, I came to love and admire Mrs. Obama here. I am indelibly marked by this lovely lady, and it all happened here. I appreciate all that you did moderating this space with such grace and I know that you will be successful in everything you do.
Best in life to Nyon, the FLOTUS defender, to Operafanatic, Bevi, Jestina, Mom in MI, Charlene in Detroit, Audrey, Dasie and some many who took this incredible ride with me, I feel like I know you all personally. These eight years have been a wonderful time to be alive. Blessings!
