Now that I see the dress without one, I like the belt even more. Thank goodness Mrs. O didn't wear the textured hose. That's one thing from my youth I'm not so excited to see return!

wow love this even more now I can see the detail. It was fab on Mrs O but I didn't realize it had that leather look to it. Just fabulous! I'm becoming quiet the Bryon Lars fan!

We knew you'd find it, Mrs. T! I like the texture of the dress better in the daylight -- much softer and more subtle.

Love it even more...which I could see her in person. Fabulous on both ladies. Mrs O. sure knows what looks good on her body. But with a body like that, its not hard.

finally we learn where this dress is from! it was definitely a great choice. and definitely looks better with the belt. people were complaining about the width of the belt, and now it's obvious that without it or had it been skinnier, it wouldn't have worked nearly as well. hard to tell if the First Lady had hers slightly altered at the neckline. looks as if it was. but the back is the same. nice choice for the day's events.

Having this dress on my mind after seeing Mrs. O wearing it on 9/11, I saw a woman on the subway wearing a dress made of very similar fabric but more of a classic sheath style without the low back so a bit more office appropriate. Both versions offer a fresh take on the black dress.

The answer is: Byron Lars Beauty Mark! The question is: Who created that wonderful frock that our Michelle wore on that solemn occasion?
That dress is a beauty!

Stunning photograph of the First Couple alongside the Bushes on Byron Lar's website. I did not expect that textured pattern, or the buttons, or the V-back. He made a simple black dress not so simple.

The red and white stripped dress MRSO wore in North Carolina at the shower for military moms and on the Martha Stewart Show in May was also by Byron Lars. Check out his Facebook page.

The Byron Lars Beauty Mark dress is indeed a lovely dress! And Mrs. O brings her very own unique and special elegance, beauty, youth, and charm to it.

Bryon Lars is quickly becoming one of my favorite Mrs. O designers. He really seems to capture her essence…while being a very strong and physical First Lady…there is still a very sweet, gentle and delicate fragility about her.

My compliments to you Mr. BL!

Peace.
