Women of Courage

The First Lady joined Secretary of State John Kerry to honor recipients of the International Women of Courage awards on Friday. This year's recipients include (from left to right in the front row): Afghan National Interdiction Unit, First Sgt. Malalai Bahaduri; Campaign for Democracy President Josephine Obiajulu Odumakin of Nigeria; Russian human rights activist, journalist Elena Milashina; Elman Peace and Human Rights Centre Executive Director Fartuun Adan of Somalia and National Autonomous University of Honduras Rector Julieta Castellanos.

For the occasion the First Lady wore a printed wrap dress that she has worn at least twice before, seen here and here last year. In the past commenters have suggested that the dress is Etro, which seems about right, but I've not been able to confirm. A gold star awaits anyone who can!

Update: Hooray for reader Pam, who has unearthed a bit of digital evidence here. It appears the dress is indeed Etro.

This is a mixed print I really like (Mrs O's styling on Dr Oz is another matter). Also, this wrap style is one almost any of us could copy and look good!

She has worn this dress more than two times before. It is truly one of her favorite dresses and shows off her figure.

She's gorgeous and only seems to get younger with each passing year! So simple and so unaffected. What you see is what you get with this marvelous First Lady. And what beautiful skin she has too.
Watched her speech and was touched by her warmth and openness and how the honorees just loved her. The Somalian woman was tongue-tied and overwhelmed "because of Michelle" she said.
I was able to google and watch the entire ceremony on c-span and was very moved by it all.

Love, love, love this dress on her -- last year, this year, whenever. The cut and the mix of colors are ideal for her, and she wears the mix of ethnic prints so well. Home run every time. Perfect, and no doubt a very comfortable dress to wear.

Like Michelle Obama but again she has not made the right choice for the occasion- my opinion only. The dress is great and she looks good wearing it, but sort of underdressed compared to most people around her.

Huge fan of Mrs. O but wish she could have selected a more subdued and subtle approach for the occasion given the multicultural audience. After all, "Discretion is the better part of valor."

This is a fun dress that our Michelle looks great in. I have always been intrigued by it and am happy to find out who designed this!
Looking good FLOTUS!

Creative details makes this dress a work of art. Why do I say this? Love the polka dot pattern left sleeve, matches waist band, sleeve pattern right side matches skirt colours.

That bit of ruching in the waist is quite fantastic also and no need for a belt. Wide pleats in the skirt adds a soft flow and a great length.
Wrap look across front is very sweet. I would love to have a dress made in this style in lighter spring colours. Love jewelry, so for me I would have worn orange necklace and earings to dress it up a bit.

You only try to post messages with positives regarding the First Lady's fashion choices. I was a fun of your site, until you chose to ignore my opinion, which tried to post a few days back.
