Fashion Friday

The first lady continues to campaign for early voting, speaking to Obama supporters during a campaign rally in Racine, Wisconsin yesterday. For the appearance, Mrs. O debuted a full-skirted tribal print dress in a mix of neutrals.

Hope everyone is having a great start to the weekend!

Update: Thanks to reader Linda, who spotted the dress as BCBG. Indeed, Mrs. O wears the BCBGMAXAZRIA Breona Geometric Jacquard Dress, available here. Reader Akisa observes that Mrs. O's dress includes an extra panel at the hem for length.

Gosh, this first lady works tremendously hard. What a legacy she will leave in 2016.

Yes, Jestina she does and she was so passionate yesterday. I mean, she always is, but something touched her yesterday. She kept asking the crowd, "Do you hear me?" I wanted to scream, "yes, I hear you!" but I was at work and had no business watching it, LOL!! She really is FIRED UP and READY TO GO!!! You can watch it here: http://youtu.be/M2DL1W4r4h0

That dress is the bomb!! And she is wearing her favorite Alaia Star Wars belt.

Great dress! Both the pattern and shape are good. Any ideas on the designer?

I love this dress with the boots. As per usual Mrs. Obama looks so much better in it than the model on the bcbg webpage.

It would be interesting to interview her tailor. If you look at the dress on the BCBG website and the one Mrs. O is wearing you can see that an additional panel was added to the bottom of the dress for length (since Mrs. O is almost 6 feet tall). Her tailor(s) always do impeccable work.

Love the patterning and shape of this dress. I had to see more, so I looked on Obama Diary. Wow! The Alaia belt and the knee boots made it a very polished look. And even the haters can't complain about that price tag.

Love this dress, both style & fabric. Lovely!

Although the pattern appears opaque, it creates a see-through look blending in with her skin tone in some areas -e.g. arm and centre of the dress. Very creative imaginative design. Love love this dress.

Lovely dress....Does anyone know how I can get an additional panel for the dress?

Wow Akisa! Good catch on the additional panel at the bottom of this dress. I like the MO dress better then the one on the model. The detail is actually more interesting.
